[BUNDLE] Sodi SR4/5 rental kart GX200/270/390 indoor/outdoor + KZR indoor track, Assetto Corsa
Every package you buy in my website includes its updates for free. You will receive an email for every product you downloaded already and got updated.
Bundle description:
Definitive indoor karting experience for Assetto Corsa, featuring my Sodi SR4/SR5 and the pro version of my KZR Martinsicuro track mod.
The track was the main testing area for comparing the kart with the real thing, so the experience is particularly accurate.
Sodi SR4/5 indoor/outdoor kart:
Requires CSP 1.79+, and PC version of Assetto Corsa
l've put everything I could in this project for 8 months, full time.
I've firstly created a very basic physics that replicated the most important behaviours of rental karts, then I done real life test comparisons, recorded every kind of data I could, and got helped by the outdoor experience of my beta testers.
Of course every rental kart is different, so this one is modeled after the average good and well balanced kart.
This focuses at being a training tool first, and a very immersive experience too, thanks to the time spent in modelling every detail, each material, each animation, each sound.
Basically rather than compromising, I've put more time on it.
Current features:
- every kart physics behavior is replicated (like bouncing when driving aggressively or on hard irregularities, etc);
- high fidelity with real life telemetry;
- accurate steering and suspension geometry;
- chassis flex replicated using AC engine (it's not actually flexing, but the wheels move as if it was. I made a suspension geometry that resembles how a chassis flexes);
- GX270 8.4CV and GX390 11.7CV engines;
- multiple tyre compounds;
- indoor and outdoor variants;
- number plates from 1 to 20, with some more additions;
- over 600 objects in the original 3D model. I made it using a rough 3D scan, over 200 photos, and the kart's assembly guide: every bolt and element is there;
- accurate materials each with their own texture maps and normals;
- animated chassis flex, pedals with their spring mechanisms, seatbelt in the indoor version, engine vibration, and plastic covers;
- driver with increased poly count, better proportions, G forces and pedal inputs legs animations.
Future features (* means that the feature isn't guaranteed):
- Bodyweight shifting* (likely, I need to see how to update driver animations to play well with it);
- Chassis flex* (less likely, might affect driving in unpredictable ways, got to test it);
- Rain tyres* (likely);
- Improved driver proportions and pose using a new 3D scan;
- Headlights and brakes lights;
- Improved tyres textures for dirt;
- Improved kart body textures for scratches.
Martinsicuro KZR indoor karting track (+ outdoor section):
Requires CSP 1.79+, and PC version of Assetto Corsa
This track was firstly created shortly before the kart itself.
It's a track where I went for the last 3 years (basically all my indoor karting experience was done there), and it's always been the testing ground for my Sodi SR4/5 mod.
Current features:
- deformable barriers;
- LiDAR scanned barriers (accurate track shape);
- generated uneven floor (very important in karting. Not laser scanned because iPhone LiDAR isn't accurate enough. So I've generated a height map with an height amplitude and length frequency that created the same vertical forces of the real kart when doing laptimes).
Future features:
- LiDAR scanned outdoor section;
- new LiDAR scanned layout that was introduced in October 2023;
- textures improvements.
The total work time on this track has been of around 2 months, mostly for figuring out how to proceed.
